This tree was made custom for my Grandma. She requested pink or mauve. Mauve stones just do not occur naturally. However, quartz can be dyed almost any color. This time it was a dark pink. She also loves to play the nickel slots, so I found some tiny nickels to dangle from the branches. The branches and trunk are made with silver colored wire and mounted on a piece of quartz that I personally mined while on vacation in Arkansas. Towering at just over three inches high and 3 and a half inches wide, this tree is only made even more beautiful by the quartz crystal base. The base is approximately two and a half inches across and one and a half inches deep. It is just over half an inch thick. There are also several crystal points that still remain on the right side of the base. The nickels on the tree are “Indian Head” nickels with a buffalo on the back. It is a unique charm to run across and I couldn’t resist the urge to include them in her tree. The glue used to secure everything is waterproof! If the tree ever looks a bit dusty just give it a spray in the sink and let it air dry. That is all the watering this tree will ever need to bring you and your loved ones years of happiness. |
