The beautiful Lake Superior agate used as a base was my inspiration for this tree. There is an incredible polish and rich warm colors. I used a gold colored wire to build the branches that support dozens of carnelian stones that have been tumbled to a high shine. It looks like a fall tree that is just about ready to drop its leaves. This tree is three and a half inches high and approximately five inches across at the widest part. The agate supports it with as size of one and a quarter inches by three quarters of an inch. It is unusual to find an uncut stone base that can support a tree so much larger than itself. This tree is the perfect size for a desk, shelf, or a window sill. When the sun shines the colors come alive in vibrant oranges and reds. Carnelian is said to inspire courage, confidence, and help focus the mind. It is also linked with the qualities of creativity, individuality, harmony, self-esteem, and assertiveness. The glue used to secure everything is waterproof! If the tree ever looks a bit dusty just give it a spray in the sink and let it air dry. That is all the watering this tree will ever need to bring you and your loved ones years of happiness. |
