STUNNING AND SUBTLE! Almost fifty stones top TWO trees on a quartz cluster base. This quartz base was too beautiful to put just one tree on it. The “leaves” are an incredible example of labradorite (also known as spectrolite) gemstones. They are varied in color from clear with the tiniest grey spots too yellow and then grey. The spectrolite aspect comes from the “flash” many of the stones have. In just the right light they will flash a vibrant blue. This occurs naturally and these stones have not been chemically treated. They have however been polished to a high shine to show off their colors. The colors of the stones match perfectly with the different colors in the cluster base. There are easily hundreds of tiny to small points on this base. Some are water clear, some are smoky quartz. This is one of the most unique pieces that I cleaned up from our last mining trip to Arkansas this summer. The pictures simply can’t capture the sparkle of the base. Some believe that Labradorite brings joy, kindness, good fortune, and originality. Spectrolite is a variety of labradorite which displays iridescent flashes that in this case the flashes I have seen are blue. The glue used to secure everything is waterproof! If the tree ever looks a bit dusty just give it a spray in the sink and let it air dry. That is all the watering this tree will ever need to bring you and your loved ones years of happiness. |
